The Benefits of Energy Healing: Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki

0 comments Wednesday
You have at sometime in your life probably come across some wonderful-sounding terms such as "chakra", "prana", "aura", and "tantra" while you have been perusing books on spirituality, sex, and healing in the New Age literature section of your local book shop. But what do these terms actually mean?

Are all of these Energy Healings the same thing?

Chakra or the energy centre is a term used in Pranic healing, which is an ancient Hindu system of energy healing. "Prana" means life energy. "Aura" is another term which can be traced to Pranic healing. Your Aura is a non-physical body which surrounds you and consists of energy; this energy exists along with your physical body. The aura that surrounds your body is believed to consist of seven layers, which pertain to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of each individual as manifested by energy. The Study of the colour and thickness of auras can give an idea as to the state of health of an individual. There are six colours which are associated with the aura and are interpreted into six personalities. All of these colours are present in an individual however one or two are more pronounced. Green - ambitious achiever Blue - spiritual peacemaker White - unconventional chameleon Red - activist Orange - creative communicator Violet - psychic

Although Tantra is usually associated with the practice of sex and spirituality, it is also another type of energy healing. It is derived from the word "tan" which means to spread or expand. The concept of being connected is a recurring theme in Tantric writings on sex and spirituality. Using Tantra as a method of healing, spirituality and sex figure prominently. It is believed that the union of a man and a woman can reach spiritual levels during orgasm, which removes from the body and mind collected impurities. These impurities which are negative energies can in turn manifest themselves as physical illnesses.

Unlike Pranic and Tantric healings, which have Hindu origins, Reiki originated in Japan? It is a much younger type of healing than that of Pranic and Tantric healings, although these have been rediscovered in the early 1900's. The term Reiki means universal energy, an energy which is brought forth by a higher intelligence. Students of Reiki are taught how to tap into this energy and use it to heal physical, emotional, and mental illnesses.

Although Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki are all types of energy healing, they differ in the type of energy used for healing: life energy, sexual energy, and universal energy respectively.

The concepts of the connectedness of mind, body, and spirit; the connection of individuals to all living and nonliving things around them and to the universe; and how energy impacts physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are some of the more obvious similarities of these three healing methods.

Why Do People Turn to Energy Healing?

Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki are considered to be alternative types of healing. In spite of the widespread availability and relative accessibility of modern medicine, why is it that more and more people are being drawn to them? Here are some possible reasons: * Energy healing worked where modern medicine failed.

For a number of reasons which are explainable and also unexplainable, modern medicine has failed to heal illness and numerous medical conditions in a great many people. Of course there is no research or scientific data which would be able to support this statement. However the families of those who are dying and also the dying patient would always be willing to take the risk of using all available alternative healing methods ranging from herbals and organics, faith healers, witch doctors, and New Age healing techniques just in the slim hope that a cure would come of it.

* People perceive modern medicine to be isolating.

Modern Medical treatments are quite often focused on the disease and its cause, which in turn can make a patient feel isolated and treated like a mere host of the disease. Although those who practice modern medicine are becoming more open to the ideas of alternative healing, and recent developments in hospital practice are beginning to promote the use of holistic treatment for patients, the perception still exists. Unlike in energy healing, since energy and spirituality are intimately linked, the patient feels that all aspects of his health are being attended to.

* Energy healing is non-obtrusive and natural thus it is safer.

Repeated surgical procedures are both physically and emotionally traumatic for patients. It is then quite logical and also an attractive option to both the patient and his or her family to seek out a far less stressful health alternative. More so, with the ever rising popularity of New Age religions, going down the natural road are the way to go.

* Energy healing is a good way of relieving stress.

Meditation comes as part and parcel in all types of energy healing and this is an added come-on for those people who are highly stressed. Also, because there is no need for sophisticated and hi tech equipment it becomes even more convenient for students and future students of energy healing.

The differing opinions of alternative healing and modern medicine continue as both parties present the benefits of their approach. However in the final analysis, the most important thing is the restoration of good health.

Chakra Frequencies: Why You Should Use Chakra Frequencies to Balance Your Chakras

0 comments Tuesday
The fact is, each chakra has its own unique frequencies. In fact, pretty much every material thing in this whole world does. Whether it be a rock, tree, human being, or dog. This Earth we live on has it's own natural frequency. And just like the earth's, a person in a meditative state has a natural frequency of approximately 7.8 hertz. This is called the Schumann Resonating Frequency. In the chakra system, our chakra frequencies need to be balanced and properly resonating throughout the body. This is key to our overall physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. If they are balanced, we feel at peace and everything is working together in harmony. If a frequency is off balance, it throws our whole chakra system off.

Unfortunately, our chakra system is so delicate and the balance can easily be thrown off. Something as trivial as a stressful occurrence at work, a sudden change in the weather, or even a minor illness is enough to scramble these frequencies. We need to perform regular maintenance on our chakra system by listening to the frequencies of each chakra so that they can naturally fine tune themselves back to their correct settings.

You may be wondering what kind of real effect listening to a frequency can have on a person?

I'll use an example we are all familiar with. Remember back in school, that god awful sound that comes from nails being scratched against a chalkboard? How did it make you feel? The hairs on the back of your neck probably stood up, and you covered your ears and cringed. What kind of effect that would have on you if you had to listen to that for a whole minute? The tone itself is powerful enough that it literally changes the rate of vibration in the cells of anybody who hears it.

Listening to chakra frequencies is a way to experience these vibrations in a positive and pure form. It is a form of therapy that has the power to bring our chakras back into perfect balance and harmony. When our chakras are in balance, our physical, emotional, and mental self is in balance as well.

It’s like a love potion – you can manipulate the feelings of others with drugs.”

How to Use Magic Potions Wisely

By: Rose Ariadne

Several books have been written on the art of kitchen witchery, the practice of making consumable goods that are charged with magic.

In the fantasy tradition, magic potions have eye of newt or toad’s breath or equally disgusting sounding concoctions and have some sort of visible and usually hideous effect. One again, that kind of gross over exaggeration is not the way real magic potions work and they are very unlikely to show an immediate tangible result.

Instead, most modern potions are forms of self-improvement or on occasion and with permission, the improvement of others. The key here to understanding the use of magic potions is that like all magic, some of the power comes from the belief that it will work. In others, like a chicken soup enhanced with herbs for health, the magic comes both from the energy and love we put into it and the innate ability of the herbs.

Here is a pair of potions, one in the form of soup, for those who are interested in practicing their kitchen witchery.

The Magic Soup of Blessings

This is a hot magic potion for the body and the soul. one two three

Essentially, a soup is made of:

a) water

b) whatever else you can lay your hands on

c) salt

Step 1:

Take a suitably large vessel. If you want to use a magic wand, now’s a good time.

Stand the cooking pot on the work surface, tap it three times with the wand (and failing that, with your outstretched finger tip) and say:

As I tap you,

this here pot a cauldron be!

Step 2.

Run tap water into a jug, or use bottled water.

Hold the jug/water bottle close to your heart, close your eyes and say:

Water of wisdom, water of might,

water of life, water of light

bring your blessings!

Pour the water into the cauldron.

Step 3.

Light the fire on your cooker, or your metaphorical electrical fire.

Stand before it, hold out your hands palms towards the fire so you can feel the heat radiating (but obviously not so close as to get burned!) and say:

Fire warm, fire bright

Fire glows in the night

Fire shines like the sun

The transformation has begun!

Put the cauldron onto your hearth.

Step 4.

Now you can get creative.

Each individual item you add to your magic soup will bring with it magic ingredients to serve a purpose by themselves, and a greater purpose overall.

For expediency’s sake, whatever you are going to add, chop it into small pieces so it cooks faster and also helps blend the tastes.

I would suggest a minimum of one piece of meat, a stock cube or a vegetarian stock cube if you’re that way inclined and three kinds of vegetables of three different colours, one red, one golden, and one green.

Bring out each item at a time, very ceremoniously, even if it is only an old stock cube or a rubbery carrot or such.

Get it ready (unwrap it, clean it, chop it) and then give it a magical purpose.

For example:

Bring your power

bring your essence,

make us proud and strong!

[Throw it into the pot whilst saying:]

So shall it be!

If you really can’t think of anything else, you can use the above four line spell for everything you add to the pot, but it is much more fun if you make up your own special magic dedications for each and every addition.

The green vegetable can be dedicated to prosperity, wealth and money for all who will eat of this soup; the yellow vegetable can be for joy, sunshine, happiness, the red vegetable for health and well being. You can add noodles and they can be dedicated to having a happy family, potatoes for luck and good fortune, different herbs and spices, each with its own magical component dedicated whatever you would like, just be free and CHILDLIKE in doing this, let it flow.

When you’ve got everything in the cauldron and it’s boiling nicely, we are ready for the final step which binds it all together – the addition of the salt.

Step 5.

Everyone who is involved in making this magic potion will now add their special and unique blessing and “seal the soup” with a pinch of salt. You’ll have to ration out the salt according to how many people are taking part in this so it doesn’t end up tasting too salty, obviously.

Get everyone to line up close to the cauldron with their little pinch of salt and starting with the youngest, have them say:

With all my love

from (insert name)

… and throw the salt into the soup. (If there are very small children involved, lift them up and help them throw it sort of in the general direction of the pot, that will do just the same).

Finally, the person in charge, you, I presume, has the last say and they say:

May this magic soup bring us together, and bring us joy.

So shall it be!

Now you simply set a timer for a few minutes and you might now get the table ready, bowls, bread and butter if that’s going to be happening as well. If you have chopped up the ingredients fairly small and you haven’t added anything that takes ages and ages to cook, such as rice, your soup should be ready to eat within ten minutes.

Step 6.

Place a mat on the table, secure any small children and ceremoniously bring the cauldron to the table and place it in the center. Make sure you have a big ladle.

Everybody should be quite excited by now; the person in charge (you) says:

With help of the universe,

we have made this meal together

in love and in joy.

We give thanks to creation.

* Change this in accordance with your beliefs to sound just right to you and yours.

Now ladle out the soup, starting with the youngest again, and naming them specifically as you fill each bowl, such as:

Magic soup for Susie

with all our love!

No-one gets to start eating until all the bowls have been filled.

This is in essence what magic potions should be–a healthy and lively experience for your mental and spiritual health.

For a potion more along the lines of fantasy stories, here is one to try:

A potion to help people see me in a positive light

1 medium glass with mineral water

1 spoon of sugar

1 spoon of honey

9 leaves from a red rose

1 small clear quartz crystal

Wash the crystal and the rose leaves thoroughly under running water first. Then, put all the ingredients into the glass with the water. Stir until the sugar and honey have dissolved.

Cut out a piece of paper in a circle.

Write your name around the circle, clockwise. Full name, 1st, 2nd, family name.

In the center, draw a simple pentagram.

Stand the glass on the paper for 3 hours, preferably in sunlight.

When the three hours are up, pour out a small quantity (minus rose leaves and crystal, obviously) into a fresh glass and either drink it there and then, or keep it in the fridge until you are about ready to go out and drink it then.

This potion raises your vibration and people will start to notice you, see you in a more positive light.

A word of caution, if this is not who you really are, you may find that people are disappointed later when you are not using the glamour and find that the friends you make while using the spell are not the type you want to keep.

The Enigma of Psychic Surgery in the Philippines

A healer and psychic surgeon working in Baguio is Placido Palitayan. He is an extremely confident and skilled psychic surgeon. It was again a privilege to meet, interview, make videos, and work with him. I have a full interview on video with Placido, and this is the transcription following some healing sessions where Placido operated on three people (including me):

The following video is NOT the video mentioned in the snippet above. It is presented for your general information.

How Can Psychic Surgery Work

By: Keith Ward

Psychic surgery started in the Philippines in a spiritualist community. The first well-known psychic surgeon, Eleuterio Terte performed surgery using only his bare hands. Frequently accompanied by his assistant, Tony Adpaoa, he created an opening in the skin and reached in to remove foreign bodies, diseased cells and tumours. The skin miraculously healed after the surgery. Filmed and written about by authors of the book “Into the Strange Unknown”, Ron Ormond and Ormond McGill, it became a subject of interest in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. The authors, amazed at the authenticity, referred to the surgery as a miracle.

The Brazilian psychic healers of the late 1950’s often used not only their hands but actually made crude incisions with kitchen utensils or non-surgical blades. Jose’ Arigo’ was one of the more famous of those healers. He claimed to have a direct connection to deceased medical doctor, Dr. Fritz. Dr.Fritz became a popular spirit when several other psychic surgeons around the world also made the connection to his spirit.

Many of the Brazilian doctors used methods in psychic surgery that resembled Chiropractic practices, shiatsu massage or Qi Gong. Frequently licensed doctors closed the wounds created by the psychic surgeons in Brazil.

While it was in its heyday, psychic surgery caught the attention of many and became a huge method of creating a cash flow for the surgeon. Several popular magicians, including James Randi, Milbourne Christopher, Penn and Teller and Criss Angel have debunked psychic surgery as a fraud. The surgeons create a flesh fold and make it appear that their hand is going into the abdominal area of the patient. Then they reach into a container of animal entrails, livers, gizzards or even glass, hidden from view and with slight hand movements, make it look as though these are pulled from the sufferer’s body. The wound magically heals since it never existed. The Brazilian patients that received actual lacerations were not so lucky; they had to heal on their own after their surgery.

By the year 1975 the Federal Trade Commission announced that psychic surgery was a hoax and banned all travel tours that transported their clients for psychic surgery. In the year, 1990 the American Cancer Society and the British Cancer society both urged patients that were ill not to seek the help of psychic surgeons but use traditional paths for recovery.

Some still ignore the warnings and prove that psychic surgery doesn’t work. These people are usually the ones that receive hope from no other source. The psychic surgery is their last effort in an attempt not just to cling to life, but to find a cure so the quality of life exists. The late comedian Andy Kaufman was one of these people. In the final stages of incurable cancer, he and his girlfriend went to Baguio, a mountain resort town in Manila. Twice daily he received psychic surgery treatments and seemed, after six weeks, to be getting better. He returned to Los Angeles and suddenly his health deteriorated and he passed quickly. His desire to get better drove him to the psychic surgeon and the belief in the surgery helped him improve his spirits but in the end, it did nothing for his health.

Keith Ward is the Founder and Director of the Circle of Professional Clairvoyants, which offers Psychic Readings with fully qualified Senior UK Clairvoyants and Psychics.

Burning Fat: Aerobics and the Body

0 comments Thursday
There are many great things about starting an aerobics program for your body. One of the greatest things about aerobics is that you can use it to burn fat in ways that are easier on your body than dieting. It is very simple to burn fat using aerobics as exercise, because there are many ways that you can train your body to do the work that it is supposed to in order to really get the most out of the aerobics that you are doing.

While you are building up a sweat and working on your heart rate, all of your muscles are also getting great things out of the aerobics work that you are doing. As you bring new blood and oxygen to all of your body systems, you are going to find that you are giving yourself the best chance to really get rid of all that unwanted fat as you go along. Working hard to burn fat is something that you can finally take control of when you are doing aerobics on a regular basis.

When you body is in constant motion, all of the body systems are working hard to maintain body functions at a normal rate. Because your muscles need to be moving more, your heart is going to have to work harder because the only way to get your muscles to move faster is to supply them with more blood and therefore more oxygen. Because your heart has to work harder your lungs need to work harder to provide your heart with the oxygen that it needs to keep pumping.

All of these things are going to work in tandem with each other to make a situation in which you are really getting the most out of your entire work out. When all of these systems are working together, you are going to find that you are much stronger than you think you would be. As your entire body fights to work harder, you are going to find that actually you are burning fat because your body needs energy to keep moving and to stay moving at a certain rate. It will find this energy in the stored pockets of fat that you have in your body. All of these things are going to happen quickly, and you will find that you are going to be much better off as you start to work out using aerobics more often.

Spices Fight Germs

According to this study:
Oregano, allspice and garlic essential oils (EOs) can be effective, natural barriers against E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria, according to a study in the Journal of Food Science....
In addition to adding flavor to our lives, herbs and spices fight germs. This study opens a window into a new, and potentially pleasant world. In the future not only will we enjoy herbs and spices for their taste benefits, we will also be encouraged to eat them to improve our health.

An earlier study by the same group found similar beneficial properties in cinnamon, allspice and clove. Mmmmmm. Everything possible should be done to encourage these people to continue their work. As the list of antimicrobial spices grows many stomachs get happier.

Not that herbs and spices are the only edible products which have been found to have anti-microbial properties. They have also given the green light to apples and tomatoes as germ fighter. Go for it!

Honey To The Rescue

Honey may reduce healing times in patients suffering mild to moderate burn wounds.
That is the conclusion of this article, which continues a long string of studies which demonstrate that humble ordinary honey is a kind of minor miracle-worker.

In this study honey was used on a number of different kinds of wounds, not just burn wounds. Compared to the usual treatments, honey speeded up healing in burn wounds. It did not, however, work as well on other kinds of wounds. In those cases, the usual kinds of treatments worked as well or better than honey.

The mechanisms which cause this healing improvement is not yet known.

Indeed, honey has been used as a treatment for burns since ancient times. The news of this study only confirms what people have known for millenia. In general, the study also confirmed the safety of the use of honey in this usage. Different kinds of honey produce slightly different results. Some researchers are trying to zero in on which kinds of honey are most effective to treat burn wounds.

Midnight Snacks Are Trouble

0 comments Monday
Your mother probably told you the same thing. In case you didn't believe her, here's a Western scientific study which warns that midnight snacks will help make you fat:
Eat less, exercise more. Now there is new evidence to support adding another "must" to the weight-loss mantra: eat at the right time of day.
The researchers claim this is the first systematic study of the phenomenon of eating at irregular hours. Whether it is the first study of its kind is not really so important. The value of the study is in finding once again something we have all heard and sort of know to be true, but often try to ignore.

The researchers talk about "circadian rhythms" and their influence on body weight. Circadian rhythms, in simple language, are regularities over the time of the day. For example, most people regularly eat big meals at certain times of the day. Their bodies--their digestive systems, to be exact--adjust to this daily schedule. Irregularities in circadian rhythms throw the body off.

Many people eat a large meal in the evening. In the West, this large meal is often the largest meal of the day and is consumed when people return home after a day's work, at a time from 6PM to 8PM, typically. Certain nations have a different habit. Indians and Spaniards, for example, eat later at night, closer to the time they go to bed.

This study suggests that such late eating habits conflict with the body's sleep circadian rhythms. Eating close to bedtime seems to make the body have conflicting messages. Part of the body's systems want to stay awake and digest the meal. Part of the body's systems want to go to sleep.

The study suggests that this conflict in the body supports excess weight gain. In principle, if the same amount of food is consumed at a different time of the day, it would be digested faster and lead to less excess weight gain.

On the other hand, the study seems to have been done in a population that follows standard Western eating habits and timing. It would be interesting to see if the same results were found among Indian late night eaters, for example.

There is a good reason why studies of this kind very often end with the words "more studies need to be done." You might have thought this study says the last word on this topic. But it didn't. Sorry.
